Day 36 - Roadtrip! to Calistoga

It's been a long time since we've taken a vacation from our vacation, but the weather is forecast to be horrible over the next several days in Port Orford, and so it's time for a good ol' dose of hedonism. Napa! Only one day's drive away.

Closing in on the Cali border - the likelihood of spotting these little monsters increases exponentially.

Yet another - this one is irridescent. We have yet to cross the state line.

The ol' ship ashore is looking like it needs some time in drydock.

The real McCoy - now we know absolutely - we are in California.

Emma doesn't get what all the fuss is about - but we can't go through Eureka without a Gold Rush coffee.

Eureka has everything.

R2D2 and a few friends have come out to greet us at the rest stop in Benbow.

We can't really tell if this one's still open for busines or not.

Ahh, what would the Redwoods be without all them fascinating attractions. Thank goodness - this one is open all year!

The trees in Cali are just getting their fall colours now.

The Super Moon rises over the pumpkin patch. Er - vineyards.

Yes, we are in wine country. The food at Johnny's in Calistoga was also exceptional - and innovative.
